About Us

The Immigrantly Podcast (formerly The Alien Chronicles) is an independent WOC-led, weekly podcast that aims to deconstruct stereotypical narratives of immigrants, their second-generation kids, people of color, and change-makers with cross-cultural, nuanced conversations. Each episode brings a fresh perspective on the issues we address through dialogue full of rich nuances. Immigrantly is just as much about problematizing the forces that shape our identity as the ordinary questions and passions that join us as humans. Typically each episode stories the journey of that individual through Q&A dialogue, but special ones include narration only audios on current or historical events such as DACA decisions and the Partition of India.

We are a radical, refreshingly (and sometimes brutally) honest platform that brings on guests who are willing to open up about their ideas and experiences, unafraid to be implicated, and who in turn challenge us listeners to re-evaluate our own assumptions.

Disclaimer-The views expressed by guests are their own and their appearance on the program does not imply an endorsement of them or any entity they represent. Immigrantly is owned by “Immigrantly Podcast LLC”

Saadia Khan, Producer & Host

Hi! I am Saadia Khan and I am an immigrant who is fascinated by different cultures. I am also a social entrepreneur who calls America home. In the current climate of polarization and divisiveness, I decided to launch a podcast that focuses on celebrating representation and inclusion in America. What qualifies me to do this Podcast? I hold an MBA in Marketing, Masters in Human Rights and I have worked with UN Women and other UN entities as part of my work at a small Civil Society Organization focused on women’s rights. My own experiences as an immigrant and a human rights activist exploring intersectionality between different cultures, racial and ethnic backgrounds form the basis of a lot of discussions.

Kylee Roberts, Content Editor & Associate Producer

My name is Kylee C. Roberts and I'm a born and bred New Yorker. As a Black woman and second-generation US citizen, exploring various aspects of my identity is always an interesting journey. Through my work, I’m looking to create multimedia content that gives voices to those without a platform. Previously, I worked in communications and development for The Lower Eastside Girls Club, assisting fundraising efforts that keep programming free for girls all over NYC. In this next chapter, I’m excited to follow my passion for production which includes the podcast Dear Jessamyn and Queer comedy series Big Egg.

Yudi Liu, Content Writer

My name is Yudi. I’m from Boston but consider myself a committed New Yorker, at least for the time being. I graduated from Barnard College with a bachelor’s in English. Like other ambitious, untidy liberal arts majors, I chose a field unrelated to my profession in health-tech consulting, hence, my gravitation back to the humanities became Immigrantly, where I act as Content Writer. At Immigrantly, I do what I love with people who share my vision: voice stories of immigrants and write light into these important human experiences.

Sarah Doh, Content and Media Editor

My name is Sarah and I do a little bit of everything for the show, but my main role is to conduct research, find guests, write questions, and provide editorial review for the episodes. I’m passionate about finding creative mediums to facilitate conversations around policy and society. I was born in South Korea but have spent my entire life in the United States, so I fit comfortably between the identities of both an “immigrant” and an “American.” I love that I get to explore the nuances of the immigrant identity through this podcast.
