Immigrantly Media began as an act of courage.

When I launched Immigrantly in 2018, I had no production background, no formal training, just a microphone, a vision, and a deep desire to tell stories that felt true. The show was raw, imperfect, and deeply personal. But that’s what made it real. It became my safe space to show up fully as myself.

As a Muslim woman, I had spent years regulating how I spoke, laughed, and felt, constantly adjusting to make others comfortable. Be proud but not too loud. Be funny but not too sharp. Smile, always smile. That self-monitoring was mentally and physically exhausting. Through Immigrantly, I finally let go of that script. I created the kind of space I had always needed, one where emotions weren’t policed, identities weren’t simplified, and nuance was celebrated.

What started as one woman learning audio production in her living room evolved into Immigrantly Media in 2023, a company built on the belief that storytelling can shift perceptions from ideology and stereotype to empathy and shared humanity. Today, we produce multiple podcasts across genres, along with the Hyphenly newsletter, live events, and a forthcoming identity empowerment app that helps users reclaim their stories.

At its heart, Immigrantly Media is more than a network. It is a movement to remind us that our full selves, in all their contradictions and colors, are not only enough, they are essential.
