Episode 41 - "We Are Here Now"

In the last few days as the situation in Kashmir has escalated, we’ve had to rely on twitter in order to get what little information we can due to the information blackout. One of the voices on twitter that has shined out for me is Sana Saeed’s. Sana has been actively updating her followers on the on goings in Kashmir, while also bringing in real narratives from people on the ground, and highlighting the work of other journalists who are writing about Kashmir.

I’m excited to have Sana on the show this week, not only to hear her perspective on Kashmir and other global geopolitics, but also to highlight the work that she does everyday as a host and producer at Al Jazeera. Prior to working at AJ+, Al Jazeera’s online channel, Sana had pieces featured in publications such as the New York Times, The Guardian, Salon, Huffington Post, and Elle, amongst many others. Her work has tackled a wide range of topics, with everything from foreign policy to life as a Muslim in the west, to sexuality and civil liberties.
